Nancy Marie Phillips, age 84 of Randolph, entered eternal life on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at home in the loving arms of her husband.
Nancy was born on November 27, 1933, in Shanghai, Michigan, a daughter of Paul and Edna (Cassiday) Franz. After graduating from Thornton Township High School, she attended and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Chicago Teachers College in 1955. Nancy had a passion for teaching young children and taught pre-school and kindergarten for 30 years in Illinois. She then retired and moved to Randolph in 1997, and substituted for 10 years. Nancy was an active member of the United Methodist Church, Randolph United Methodist Women and Randolph Kiwanis Club. She was an active supporter of her community, volunteering and giving back where she could. On December 30, 1955, she was united in marriage to Gordon Phillips.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Gordon; three children, Todd (Linda) Phillips of Polar, Amy (Bruce) Vredeveld of Randolph and Ross (Jan) Phillips of Cambria; seven grandchildren, Jason Phillips, Wesley Phillips (fiancé, Amy), Callie Phillips, Scott (Bryanna) Phillips, Lisa (Jacob) Gaulthier, Ryan (Brittany) Cashman and P.J. Cashman (Melissa Koopmans); three great-grandchildren, Levi and Scout Gaulthier and Camila Cashman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her step father, Arthur Cassiday and her sister, Barbara (Ray) Kickert.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Randolph United Methodist Church, 227 North High Street, Randolph.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Randolph United Methodist Church with Pastor Pam Harkema officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Beaver Dam Hillside Hospice, American Cancer Society and Christmas Food Box fund at Randolph United Methodist Church.
