Music Has Special Healing Power For Local Sober House

7/22/17 – The musicians performing at a fundraiser for a sober living house in Beaver Dam say music has a special healing power. Bridges of Dodge County has served men with substance abuse issues ranging from alcohol to heroin since opening its doors in December of 2015. Mike Roddy plays drums in Elwood and the Eccentrics, the band that will be performing tonight. Roddy says the theme of tonight’s fundraiser — the “50th Anniversary of the Summer of Love” – is just as relevant today as it was a half century ago. The 50th Anniversary of the Summer of Love fundraiser for the Bridges of Dodge County sober living home will be held tonight at Beaver Dam’s Chapel of the Archangels. There will be snacks, beverages and guitar raffles along with prizes for the best-dressed hippie. The doors open at 6pm and Elwood and the Eccentrics hit the stage beginning at 7pm.
