(Lomira) Authorities in Dodge County handled several motor vehicle accidents on Interstate 41 as the weather turned icy and rainy late Saturday morning. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle injury accident that was reported at 11:14am near Highway 67 in the Town of Lomira. Six minutes later in the same general location, the Wisconsin State Patrol handled a two-vehicle injury accident. Seven minutes later, a car slid into the ditch in the same stretch of roadway. Just after the noon hour, another run-off was reported on I-41 near State Highway 49. There were various other run-offs and crashes throughout the day but only one other resulted in injuries. That crash occurred at 11pm on County Road W in the Town of Beaver Dam. One injury accident was reported Sunday afternoon in the Town of Oak Grove and another Monday morning in the Town of Beaver Dam. None of the injuries were reported as life-threatening.
Authorities did apprehend four intoxicated drivers Saturday night and Sunday morning, three of which occurred within about one hour of each other. A 26-year-old motorist in Neosho was cited for his second OWI at 11:16pm Saturday. A 35-year-old motorist was arrested for OWI in the Town of Oak Grove at 12:19am Sunday. Four minutes later, an OWI arrest was made in Mayville. At bar-time on Sunday morning, a 24-year-old motorist was cited for his third OWI offense.
