MPTC Graduates Students From Manufacturing Skills Academy

(Beaver Dam) Moraine Park Technical College recently held its bi-annual Manufacturing Skills Academy graduation ceremony. Twenty-three students graduated from the program; ten from the Computer Numerical Control Machinist Boot Camp and 13 from the Welding Boot Camp. The Skills Academy is designed to combat a shortage of skilled workers by offering a variety of boot camp sessions which allow participants a free sessions that are unique to a particular pathway and connect students with area employers. The program also combined a 144-hour paid internship with coursework, including Occupational Math, Print Reading, Team Building and Problem Solving. Those interested in learning more about the program are encouraged to attend a boot camp test drive event scheduled at Moraine Park’s Fond du Lac campus this Wednesday and Thursday.
