Motorist Seriously Injured In Three-Vehicle Interstate Wreck

10/11/17 – One person was seriously injured in a three-vehicle accident Wednesday evening in the Dodge County Town of Theresa. The wreck occurred just before 5pm on Interstate 41 north of State Highway 28. A car was northbound on the interstate when the driver abruptly turned into the left passing lane, apparently to turn onto the crossover which is the U-turn area for highway maintenance and law enforcement vehicles. The car was struck from behind by another northbound vehicle and the force of the impact pushed the car into the southbound lanes where it was struck by a truck. The driver of the car was flown from the scene with possible life-threatening injuries. The drivers of the other two vehicles were not injured and there were no other passengers in any of the vehicles. Interstate 41 was closed for nearly three hours, reopening around 8pm. The names of those involved will not be released until Thursday evening at the earliest. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team is leading the investigation into the cause.
