(Fond du Lac) The Fond du Lac Senior Center was presented with the Moraine Park Technical College 2018 Community Partnership Award. The recognition singles out a community non-profit organization or business partner who has gone above and beyond their role with MPTC students in service-learning opportunities. For the past three years, Moraine Park’s Information Technology students have hosted Tech Tyme at the senior center to help the older population navigate the ever-changing world of technology. Tech Tyme operates as a service-learning initiative at the College. Students who participate are required to log volunteer hours which count towards earning a Service-Learning Award. Fond du Lac Senior Center Program Director Sarah Docter says working with Moraine Park has been an awesome experience of the organization and their participants. She says that the program has impacted almost 500 people so far. For more information on Moraine Park Technical College, visit www.morainepark.edu.
