(Fond du Lac) Nearly 350 students were on hand at Moraine Park Technical College’s commencement ceremony on May 18th. Held at the Fond du Lac High School Field House, this was only a fraction of the nearly 800 graduate candidates who were eligible to receive their associate of applied science degrees and technical diplomas.
The ceremony was highlighted with a keynote speech from Rick Parks, CEO of Society Insurance, who used his speech to encourage new graduates to do something worthwhile, to work with and for people who earn their respect, and to be passionate about what they do. Parks also reminded graduates to find ways to give back, while remaining humble in their successes.
Aurelio Rosas, a three-time Moraine Park graduate, served as the featured student speaker. Rosas recounted his own Moraine Park story and stressed that it is never too late to go after your dream career, saying that education is ageless.
