Milwaukee Man Sentenced For Sending Opioids To Fox Lake Prison

(Fox Lake) A Milwaukee man was sentenced Monday to 20 days behind bars with work release privileges for mailing controlled substances to an inmate at the Fox Lake Correctional Institution. Calvin Brown Jr. pled no contest in November to one felony count of Delivering Illegal Articles to an Inmate. A second felony charge of Possession with Intent to Deliver Prescriptions was dismissed but read into the record. In December of 2016, Brown mailed strips of the opioid-drug Suboxone to his son who is incarcerated in Fox Lake. Prison phone transcripts monitored the 64-year-old Brown and his son discussing different methods for mailing the drug into the facility. In addition to jail time, Brown was placed on probation for one year.
