Milwaukee Man Plead Not Guilty For Sending Opioids Into Prison

7/3/17 – A Milwaukee man accused of mailing controlled substances to an inmate at the Fox Lake Correctional Institution was in court for his arraignment hearing on Thursday of last week. Calvin Brown Jr. entered a plea of not guilty to one felony count of Delivering Illegal Articles to an Inmate. Last December, Brown allegedly mailed strips of the opioid-drug Suboxone to his son who is incarcerated in Fox Lake. According to the criminal complaint, prison phone transcripts monitored the 63-year-old Brown and his son discussing different methods fo3r mailing the drug into the facility. If convicted, Brown faces up to three years in prison.
