(Lomira) A Milwaukee man was found guilty Friday of injuring three minors during a 2015 crash near Lomira. Tory Agnew entered a no contest plea to an amended felony count of OWI Causing Injury to a Passenger Less Than 16 Years Old. Three additional felonies were dismissed but read into the record. Multiple Dodge County deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle accident on Interstate 41. Agnew’s vehicle entered the west gravel shoulder, traveled across both lanes of traffic, hit an embankment and rolled over, coming to rest on its wheels. Two children were ejected. A six-month-old sustained a scalp laceration and a three-year-old suffered brain hemorrhaging as well as a fractured vertebra. A one-year-old was also injured. In talking with investigators, law enforcement noticed an odor of marijuana coming from Agnew and said that the car also smelled of the drug. The other passanger admitted to police that Agnew smoked marijuana before driving. A blood draw was taken and he tested positive for THC. The 33-year-old denied taking any drugs but did admit to being (quote), “around marijuana smoke earlier that day.” Agnew faces at least 240 days and a maximum of eight years behind bars. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for January 28.
