12/2/17 – The Mayville Police Chief is reminding residents of changes to the winter parking rules within the city. Beginning December 1st and continuing until April 1st, no overnight parking is allowed. Moving forward the Police Department and the Department of Public Works will be following a one inch rule. Meaning, the DPW will only plow if there is one inch or more of accumulated snowfall. If there is less than one inch the DPW will only salt the roads. Parking enforcement will only be conducted if snowfall accumulates one inch or more and residents may park on the street if there is less than one inch of snow. Police Chief Ryan Vossekuil says residents should check the forecast and ensure that all vehicles are removed from the street if snow is projected. Parking permits for municipal lots can be purchased at City Hall during business hours.
