Mayville Police Chief On Administrative Leave

2/15/17 – Mayville’s police chief has been placed on administrative leave. A press release from Mayville Mayor Robert Boelk says on Monday February 6, the city became aware of an allegation that took place in 2011 involving the Mayville Police Chief Christopher MacNeill.  As of February 9, 2017, Boelk placed MacNeill on administrative leave pending the results of an internal investigation. Police Captain Ryan Vossekuil says other officers and employees of the department are not part of the investigation. The probe is being handled by the Watertown Police Department. MacNeill, a 17-year veteran of the department, has been chief since 2011. The city is not providing further comment until the investigation is complete.
