4/13/17 – A Mayville man accused of taking a cash register from a Mayville restaurant has a jury trial now on the calendar in June. Kenneth Heinrich pled not guilty at arraignment yesterday to one felony count of Theft and to misdemeanor charges of Carrying a Concealed Knife, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and three counts of Bail Jumping. The 50-year-old reportedly stole the register, which had close to two-thousand dollars in it, after dinning at the Sherwood Family Restaurant this past February. According to the criminal complaint, Heinrich pulled out a knife when he was confronted outside the restaurant after dropping the register in the parking lot. No one immediately recognized the suspect but police received a tip that Heinrich was at Sidelines bar in Mayville the following day wearing the same clothes he had while taking the register. If convicted, Heinrich is facing nearly 14 years in prison.
