Mayville Man Accused Of Attempted Armed Robbery

(Mayville) A Mayville man is facing felony charges of Armed Robbery with the Threat of Force. Paul Lehmann allegedly entered the Shell Gas Station on North Main Street around 6:30pm on Tuesday and allegedly told the clerk that he had a gun. The clerk told police that he thought the suspect was lying and sounded scared so he told him to pull the gun out if he actually had one. After the clerk made the statement, the suspect walked about the front door and fled on a motorcycle. Authorities spotted the motorcycle parked on the street a few blocks away. In talking with Lehmann, the deputy noted that he had track marks on his arms indicative of heroin use and asked if he attempted to rob the gas station. The 38-year-old Lehmann allegedly admitted his involvement and conceded that he does not own a gun. A signature bond was set at $1000 on Thursday and a judge will decide next month if there is enough evidence to order a trial.
