(Mayville) A Mayville family recently donated $1-million to the Mayville Public Library. Ted and Grace Bachhuber gifted the funds as the library is beginning the process of building a newer, more advanced facility on a vacant lot on John Street. Mayville Public Library President Grant Larson says thanks to this donation the library is one step closer to reaching their goal of providing up-to-date services to Mayville and the surrounding area. He added that a modern building with more space will allow them to provide more programming and meet the growing computer and Internet access needs of their patrons. An architectural firm will develop a design for the new building, and once plans are finalized, additional fund raising efforts will began. Larson says construction will start when funds to complete the project have been raised.
