Maxine Amanda Thiede

Maxine Amanda Thiede, 96, Burnett, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Hillside Manor.

 

Maxine was born May 3, 1922, in Burnett to Oscar and Ada Schellpfeffer.  She was baptized on June 4, 1922 and confirmed on April 5, 1936.  She attended school in Burnett.  On July 20, 1946, she was united in marriage to Harvey E. Thiede at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mayville.   They were blessed with 3 children, Janice, Glenn, and Cheryl.

 

She worked throughout her life at a cheese factory, the Burnett Store, the Burnett Bank, Burnett School, Horicon Schools, and Parent and Dott.

 

Maxine is survived by her loving children, Janice (Bernie) Schmitz of Burnett, Glenn (Sue Ann) Thiede of DePere, and Cheryl (Richard) Corbett of Burlington.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Karl (Kelly) Schmitz of Burnett, Jana (Bob) Mallon of Burnett, Janelle (Heath) Fishbaugher of Markesan, Bill (Christine) Schmitz of Horicon, Chris (Molly) Schmitz of Poynette, Jenny (Derrick) Weinberger of Burnett, Tiffany Thiede of Sun Prairie, Trenton (Meredith) Thiede of Oregon, WI, Travis (Tanya) Thiede of DePere, and Katie Corbett of Burlington; and 13 great grandchildren.  Maxine is also survived by two sisters in law, Carol Thiede of Juneau, and Fern Thiede of Burnett as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Ada Schellpfeffer; her husband, Harvey in 1970; brother, Palmer Schelly and his wife Virginia; sister, Zedonia Albert and her husband Wilmer.   Also preceded in death by in laws, Violet Thiede, Inez Winker and husband Claire, Lucille Clinton and husband Clarence, Earl Thiede and wife Adeline, Edward Thiede and wives Virginia and Mary, AnnaBelle Thiede, Geraldine Reifsnider and husband Orville, Bonnie Gallenbeck and husband Lyle, Kenneth Thiede, and Jack Thiede.

 

The family extends special thanks to the staff at Eagle’s Wings and Hillside Manor as well as the staff of Hillside Hospice.  We would especially like to thank Kayla, Laura, Shayla, and Kim.

 

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 17, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Burnett.  Funeral Service to follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tim Sallach officiating.  Interment in Highland Memory Gardens.

 

Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church Sunday School, Burnett or Hillside Hospice, Beaver Dam.
