MARCH 5TH: CHEESE DOODLE

Chocolate Snickerdoodles

1 ½ c. sugar

½ c. butter

1 tsp. vanilla

2 eggs

2 ¼ c. all purpose flour

½ c. unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp. cream of tartar

½ tsp. baking soda

¼ tsp. salt

2 Tbsp. sugar

2 Tbsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 400°. In large bowl, combine sugar & butter; beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs and blend well. Add flour, cocoa, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt, and mix well. In small bowl combine 2 Tbsp. sugar & cinnamon. Shape dough into 1” balls and roll in sugar-cinnamon mixture. Place 2” apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake until set, about 8-10 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheets and cool.
