Many Communities Observing Memorial Day On Monday

(Dodge County) There will be several activities county wide in honor of Memorial Day on Monday. In Beaver Dam, a ceremony will be held at Veteran’s Memorial Park at Oakwood Cemetery on Highway 33 starting at 10:15am. The service will include a reading of the names of Veterans who have passed away in the past year, musical performances by the Beaver Dam High School and Saint Katherine Drexel marching bands, and possibly, a flyover. The ceremony will be broadcast live on AM1430 WBEV and DailyDodge.com where you will also find a video stream. The Lowell Veterans of Foreign War Post and the Reeseville American Legion Post will conduct Memorial Day observances beginning at the Village Cemetery in Reeseville at 7:30am which includes a brief ceremony and parade. A service follows at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Lowell at 8:30am followed by an observance of those lost at sea at the bridge in Lowell. The keynote speaker is Dodge County Veteran’s Service Officer Andy Miller. In Waupun, the annual Memorial Day parade begins at 9am on Main Street with ceremonies to take place at Shaler Park at 10am. In Fox Lake, the parade begins at 10am beginning at Annunciation Parish with a program at Clausen Park following the parade hosted by Fox Lake American Legion. In Mayville, the Legion Post will visit local cemeteries starting at 8am ending with a ceremony at Veterans Park after the 10:30am parade. The Randolph VFW is hosting a program at the Veterans Memorial at Randolph Cemetery beginning at 9:30am with guest speaker Gordon Phillips; there is no parade this year in Randolph.
