Man Who Shot Beaver Dam Fleet Farm Employee Sentenced

7/22/17 – The Fitchburg man who shot an employee outside of Beaver Dam’s Fleet Farm was sentenced to 15 years in prison yesterday. Jared Spencer pled no contest to Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide in April. In July of 2015, Spencer shot Fleet Farm’s assistant manager with a handgun after he was confronted about a suspected ammunition theft.  The manager was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The 19-year-old was taken into custody shortly after the incident following a traffic stop on Highway 151 near Columbus. In addition to prison time, Spencer was placed under 20 years of extended supervision.
