Lynn H. Cundy, 78, of Mayville, passed away unexpectedly from an automobile accident on Wednesday, December 6, 2017.
A visitation for Lynn will take place on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 4 p.m. with Deacon Willis Heideman officiating.
Lynn was born the son of Gilbert M. and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Cundy on January 6, 1939 in Neda, Wisconsin. He was a 1956 graduate of Mayville High School. On September 12, 1959 Lynn was united in marriage with Judith A. Nitschke at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville. Together with his wife Judy, they owned and operated West Side Beverage. Lynn retired from the City of Mayville, Parks & Recreation.
He attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Lynn was very active in the Mayville community, he was a retired member of the Mayville Fire Department where he served as the Fire Chief for 12 years. He was also the Mayville Police & Fire Commissioner, and served on the Chamber of Commerce. He was active in the Mayville Food Pantry, Mayville Booster Club, Mayville Hockey Club and the Mayville Golf Club. He also was a member of Wings over Wisconsin and a member of 1240 River City Hunt Club. But most important to Lynn was his family and grandchildren.
Lynn will be missed by his children; Dori (Terry) Klapper of Beaver Dam, and Gregory Cundy of Mayville, grandchildren; Lacey (Adam) Hupf, Kendra (special friend Troy Marx) Cundy, Payton Klapper, Lukas Cundy, and Sarah Cundy, great-granddaughter; Madalynn, siblings; Betty Ann Cundy of Beaver Dam, Gilbert (Ruth) Cundy, Jr. of Wild Rose, and Lynn’s special friend; Dorothy McCrory of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Judy in 2011.
