Longtime Badger Honor Flight Organizer Taking Trip As Participant

(Beaver Dam) A local veteran will be getting the opportunity to participate in the Badger Honor Flight after years of organizing the event. Jim Bublitz has helped send veterans from the Dodge County area to Washington D.C. to see the various monuments built in their honor. That includes the Arlington National Cemetery, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Iwo Jima, World War II, Korean, Vietnam, and Air Force monuments. Bublitz says he will be joining other veterans on the flight Saturday and is looking forward to spending the day with his daughter. Bublitz’s daughter will serve as his guardian which is a volunteer role that assists veterans throughout their journey to Washington. The public is invited to the Dane County Airport to welcome home the veterans Saturday evening. After Saturday, the next and final Badger Honor Flight of the season is scheduled for November 3.
