(Beaver Dam) A local veterans group is raising money for a variety of charitable causes. The AMVETS Post 33, which was named after one of its members, Bob Frankenstein, is holding a spaghetti feed this afternoon. During a recent appearance on WBEV’s Community Comment program, the AMVETS Eric Bates says proceeds will benefit a number of area organizations including: the Horicon Marsh, the Food Pantry, Pave, and Badger Honor Flight. Bates says there will be a jar at the event solely dedicated for donations to the Badger Honor Flight. Other organizations that benefit are Pets for Vets and Being There Reaching Out, which aids Wisconsin families who have lost loved ones due to war. Today’s spaghetti feed runs from 11 am to 6 pm at John’s Bar in Beaver Dam. There will be a 50/50 raffle and silent auction. Tickets are $8.50 per adult and $3 per child age ten or under.
