Local Agencies Again Participating In Drug Take-Back

(Juneau) The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office will once again be participating in a statewide prescription take back event next weekend. Citizens can bring all their unwanted, unneeded or expired medications to a drop box located on the lower level of the Sheriff’s Office at 124 West Street in Juneau. Authorities ask that all solid, non-liquid medications be removed from their container and placed in a clear sealable plastic bag. Blister packages are acceptable and any liquids, creams and sprays must be in their original packaging. Authorities say this event is a way to keep unused prescription drugs out of the hands of those they are not intended for. They say that abuse of medication is dangerous and many times leads to other, more serious addictions. There is no fee to dispose of the drugs. The take back event runs from 9am to 3pm next Saturday. Schmidt says their drop box is always available 24 hours a day, seven days a week year-round. Other Dodge County agencies participating include Beaver Dam, Columbus, Juneau, Lomira, Mayville, Watertown and Waupun.
