Today is the last day to vote for two Dodge County coaches in the first round of a nationwide contest. Beaver Dam Girls Basketball Head Coach Tim Chase, along with Dodgeland Track and Cross Country Coach Kevin Klueger, are among 50 coaches from across the country competing for the U.S. Cellular Most Valuable Coach Program. The top coaches were selected based on the positive impacts they have on their players, school and city as well as their leadership qualities. Chase has just under six-percent of the voting, good for third place, while Klueger has three-and-a-half-percent which places him at 15th. Visit www.TheMostValuableCoach.com to cast your vote.
The final 15 coaches will be announced on October 11 with U.S. Cellular donating $5-thousand dollars to their schools. The three finalists will receive donations of $10-thousand, $20-thousand and $50-thousand dollars respectively. The first place coach will also be awarded a Samsung tech prize package valued at $30-thousand dollars. The winners will be announced on November 20.
