(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam man was found guilty Wednesday for providing the drugs that killed a Reeseville man. Following the three-day trial, a jury took three-and-a-half hours to find Jason Thompson guilty of First Degree Reckless Homicide charges in the death of James Hook. The 62-year-old was found unresponsive in his apartment two years ago. An autopsy revealed heroin was in his system. Text messages indicated that Hook obtained the heroin from Thompson and used it the same night he was found. During sentencing, Dodge County Managing Attorney Robert Barrington says this case is important because a human life was taken and that society needs to hold those accountable that provide drugs to others. Thompson is facing up to 46-years in prison. A pre-sentencing investigation was ordered and Thompson is due back in court on May 1.
