(Juneau) City officials in Juneau are hoping to save money with some administrative changes being implemented. The Juneau Common Council last this week approved changes to clerical positions at City Hall. The action vacates the full-time Deputy Treasurer position and creates a part-time Administrative Assistant. The assistant will work 24-to-30 hours, includes payroll among its responsibilities and answers to the City Clerk-Treasurer. Mayor Dan Wegener says the city will see if the position works part-time now that it is a down time in terms of budget preparations. The most recent deputy treasurer resigned in May.
