JUNE 6TH: APPLESAUCE CAKE

Microwave Applesauce

8-10 medium apples, peeled and quartered

½ c. water

¼ c. cinnamon candies or ¼ – ½ tsp. ground cinnamon

¼-1/2 c. sugar to taste

Using a 3 quart casserole dish, combine all ingredients. Cover and cook in microwave on HIGH for 8-10 minutes or until soft, stirring occasionally. Let stand for a few minutes. Transfer to blender. Blend well until smooth. Place in glass jars. Let stand on counter until cooled. Cover and refrigerate or freeze. (You can leave peelings on for a more textured applesauce).

I’ve been making applesauce with this recipe for over 30 years. It easy and delicious! And freezes well.
