(Watertown) A rural Watertown man serving a 31-year prison sentence for sexual assault was in court Thursday trying to reduce his sentence. After a five-day jury trial in 2009, Peter Weyker was convicted of Child Sexual Assault and videotaping young girls without their knowledge. During Thursday’s hearing, Weyker’s attorney asked Judge Brian Pfitzinger to overturn two of the eight charges he was convicted on. Pfitzinger denied the motion. In 2008, the victim told authorities that a recent incident was the latest in a long line of sexual assaults dating back to 2006. When police executed a search warrant at the residence, they also discovered two camera’s in a bathroom. The 53-year-old Weyker was also placed on extended supervision for 28 years.
