Incentives Approved For Beaver Dam Hotel Development

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Common Council on Monday night approved the incentives for the developer bringing a new hotel to the city. The Holiday Inn Express is being constructed just south of East Industrial Drive between Seippel Boulevard and US Highway 151. City Finance Director John Somers says the developer’s agreement calls for the incentives to be paid for with money generated within the newly created Tax Increment Finance District #8 around the Heritage Village Mall. Somers says the incentive is a cash grant to the developer available only after a 71-room hotel is constructed with a value of at least $7-million dollars. Once that has been demonstrated to the city, the cash grant will be provided.  Kinseth Hospitality Companies is partnering with WDS Construction, Inc. on the project. When the hotel was officially announced in July, company officials indicated that a groundbreaking ceremony is expected in the fall of this year or the spring of 2019.
