Identity Of Man Shot By Beaver Dam Police Released

(Beaver Dam) Authorities have released the name of the individual injured and arrested following the officer involved shooting that occurred Friday in the city of Beaver Dam. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says 35-year-old Richard Henke II of Beaver Dam was wounded in the “lower extremities” by a police officer who reacted to a situation involving a firearm. Henke was then taken into custody without further incident and transported to UW Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police Chief John Kreuziger says the officer is a 17-year veteran of the force who has been placed on non-disciplinary administrative leave, per department policy. The chief says they are providing for appropriate support for the officers involved and their families. The incident remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
