Monday, July 16th:

TODAY IS: Rum, National Golf, No hitter Day (1876), International “Tell a Joke”, Elvis Presley commemoration day, Roller Coasters

We talked about why sprinkles are called “Jimmies”, baseball, parking meters and swapping healthy foods for the “not so healthy” kind. (Example: homemade dressin gfor bottled dressing, bison for ground beef, pepitas for croutons and corn tortillas for flour tortillas. We also discussed the different types of grains. Recipes shared on today’s program: Beet Chips, Roasted Cauliflower and Chick Pea Tacos

Tuesday, July 17th:

TODAY IS: cup cake, Thrift shops, Airmail Balloon, Davy Crockett birthday (1786)

We talked about ways with baking soda, things cooks should know (summer tips and tricks), organization tips, how to keep mosquitoes away and cool facts about Disneyland-it opened on this date back in 1955. Recipes from today: Un-cheddar popcorn, Lemon-Pepper Parmesan Popcorn, Simple Syrup; Easy Fresh  Fruit Soda, Gourmet Chicken Salad, Tacos on a Stick, Cherry Fruit Smoothies, Grilled Fruit PIzza, Zucchini Chocolate Chip Muffins, Spinach Pie, and Corn Fritters.

Wednesday, July 18th:

We also found information regarding businesses in the area that repair cuckoo clocks. Recipes from today: Cucumber salad, Low fat chocolate muffins, Easy Blackberry Cobbler, Raspberry Poppy Seed Dressing, Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breasts, Fruit Tostados, Quick and Easy Jam and Easy Gazpacho.
