Hustisford “Toilet Bowl” Event Is Being Held Today

(Hustisford) The 52nd Annual Toilet Bowl is being held in Hustisford today. Organizers call the event one of the holiday seasons most bizarre and fun events with of “potty” references, some beer drinking, toilet paper throwing and music. The Toilet Bowl Parade begins at 11am. Anyone interested in participating in the parade is invited to the staging area on Griffith Street at 10:30am. Advance registration is not required and there will be prizes awarded to the top entries. After the parade is the Toilet Bowl pull, a tug-of-war competition held at noon on the Firemen’s Park ball field. Water barrel fights sponsored by the Hustisford Fire Department begin at 1pm. Music from DJ Jesse James will be at the Community Hall from 1pm to 6pm, where food and drinks will be served starting at 11:30am and football will be shown on six screens. There is no cover charge. The Hustisford Toilet Bowl began as a game of tackle football among friends gathering at a local bar in Hustisford to overcome their New Year’s hangovers and shed the extra pounds picked up over the holidays. The football game continued for several years but due to liability concerns it was discontinued a few years ago. This annual event was a fundraiser for the Hustisford Fire Department for many years and now is a fundraiser for the Hustisford Community Hall.
