Horicon Schools, Chamber Preparing Community Survey

2/22/17 – The Horicon Board of Education discussed a community survey at their meeting this week. The questionnaire is a joint effort by the Horicon Chamber of Commerce, local businesses, and the Horicon School District. Among other things, the survey will ask district residents why they choose Horicon. School District Administrator Richard Apple says the questions will focus on those who choose to commute into Horicon rather than live in the community. Around 90-percent of the survey will be done electronically, sent out via emails and published online. The survey was spurred on by the Chamber of Commerce as part of an effort to fill job opening but Apple says it also grew out of discussions at an economic development summit last summer. The survey will cost just under $6000, with each of the three entities paying one-third. Apple says the next step is to formulate and finalize the questions.
