(Horicon) City officials in Horicon are discussing the possibility of a monthly pay increase to the mayor. The ordinance would bump the monthly pay from $350 dollars to $380. The increase would be to the position of mayor and not to the individual who is in office. Mayor Steve Neitzel, who is not seeking re-election this spring, says it has been a long time since the mayoral position pay was addressed. He says in the six years that he has been in office no change has been made and there was no change during the tenure of his predecessor. If approved the change would not go into effect until after the spring elections. The matter was discussed in committee Tuesday night and the full council will vote on the ordinance during their next meeting.
