Horicon Fire Chief Was Top Vote-Getter For Open District Two Seat

(Horicon) Horicon’s Fire Chief will have to decide if he wants to sit on the city’s common council or give up his current job. Jim Bandsma was the top vote-getter for the open District 2 seat during the April 2nd election. The position had been held by Nathan Anfinson who did not seek re-election. City Clerk Kristen Jacobson says there were a total of 14 write-ins and Bandsma received the most votes with four. Bandsma was elected ward two alderman in 2016 but declined to be seated. The city only allows officials to serve in one sworn office and Bandsma choose to remain fire chief at that time. She says he will have until Tuesday’s Organizational Council Meeting to decide.
