2/19/17 – A Horicon-based company was recently honored with a construction industry award for a project in Columbia County. Sure Fire Inc. was recognized by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin for work at Saint-Gobain’s Portage Plant as being exemplary in the areas of overall distinctiveness, execution of design, craftsmanship, coordination, budgeting, difficulty and safety. Saint-Gobain recently decided to expand its manufacturing facility in Portage by adding 48-thousand square feet of manufacturing and warehousing space, and the company chose Sure-Fire to provide the complex mechanical systems that were needed for medical-grade “clean rooms.” The “clean rooms” are a controlled, isolated environment for handling contamination-sensitive substances that will have direct contact with patients. Saint-Gobain’s Portage facility is a custom manufacturer of silicone and thermoplastic products for medical devices. Sure Fire, which is Dodge County largest HVAC mechanical contractor, has 35 employees in three divisions that perform commercial projects throughout the state.
