Hartford Man Sentenced For Randolph Jewelry Theft

4/21/17 – A Hartford man will spend 45 days in jail and two years on probation for stealing thousands of dollars in jewelry while he was doing flooring work at a Randolph. Jacob Engel was charged in Dodge County court with felony Theft of Movable Property but pled yesterday to three reduced misdemeanors. Prosecutors say the 31-year-old was working for Neosho-based B&B Flooring Refinishing last May when he stole $9400 in jewelry, including a wedding ring. Engel was confronted by his boss about the theft and admitted the rings were pawned in Slinger. A receipt with his name shows that he received $490 for the stolen items and Engle yesterday was ordered to pay that amount in restitution.
