(Ashippun) The Dodge County Parks Department has announced that the annual Harnischfeger Park Fall Fest will be held later this month near Ashippun. Activities include face painting and balloon art, the Kona ice truck, blacksmithing art demos, chainsaw art demos, a Tae Kwon Do activity, our country farm and crafts marketplace, beekeeping demos and honey sales, SAGES School from Fox Lake, and afternoon entertainment by Tale Spin. Family affordable horse drawn wagon rides will be available. there will be a pedal tractor course, and a barrel train ride for the kids.
The south end of the park will have the Alaskan Malamute Weight Pull Competition, the a nine-hole mini golf course will be available that day for FREE for you to enjoy, and for the kids, a numbers maze game to play.
The north fields activities include a corn maze to test your directional skills, donations accepted, harvesting demos of potatoes with vintage equipment by the Ixonia Vintage Tractor Expo with potato gathering activity, donations accepted, and vintage equipment demos by the Ixonia Vintage Tractor Expo of PTO powered shredding, threshing, and circular saw log cutting. Indian corn, corn stalk bundles, and straw bales will be available for purchase.
The North Barn area activities include, retriever dog training demos, North Barn Open House with vintage equipment displays, and PTO powered fanning mill demos. For the kids, make a piece of rope the old fashioned way, shell a cob of corn, and make a corncob dart, and race a rubber ducky.
Friends of the Dodge County Parks’ President Glenn Daily calls the event a good opportunity to explore one of the county’s parks. Admission is free but certain events cost money. All proceeds are used to fund park projects. Harnischfeger Park Fall Fest will be held on Saturday, September 29 at Harnischfeger County Park from 8am to 4pm.
