Green Lake Residential Structure Sustains Heavy Damage From Fire

(Green Lake) The Green Lake Fire Department responded to a structure fire early Thursday morning. At 3:30am the Green Lake County 911 Dispatch center received a call that a residence was on fire at 471 Meadowlark Lane in Green Lake. Fire Chief Michael Ratter says the occupants were able to exit the home and were transported to Ripon Hospital due to the heavy smoke. A resident in a second unit was not at the property at the time of the blaze. One firefighter was transported to the hospital for exhaustion type symptoms and is expected to be okay. One Green Lake City Police Officer was treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation and did not require medical transport. The residential units sustained heavy damage and the fire remains under investigation. Assisting at the scene was Fire Departments from the City of Green Lake, Town of Brooklyn, City of Berlin and the City of Princeton.
