Gold Star Memorial Trial Funds Enough To Construct Phase One

(Mayville)  The funds have been secured to construct the first segment of a non-motorized path that will honor fallen veterans.  Dodge County’s Land Resources and Parks Department says the $650-thousand dollar goal to construct phase one of the Gold Star Memorial Trail has been met.  Over $200-thousand dollars was collected in 2016, half of which came through a matching grant from Mayville’s Bachhuber Foundation.  Design work on phase one of the ten-foot wide paved trail, which will run from Mayville’s Theiler (tyler) Park to the Horicon Marsh Visitor Center, is expected to wrap up in February with the goal of opening the trail this summer.  Future phases would incorporate the cities of Horicon and Beaver Dam.
