(Dodge County) An upcoming fundraiser aims to help with maintenance efforts at the Wild Goose State Trail. The Friends of Dodge County Parks and Dodge County Horseman’s Association is hosting a Poker Ride and Walk at the end of this month. Organizer Anthony Kuenzi says the proceeds will be used to address cleanup needs along the horse trail that runs parallel to Wild Goose. He says they hope to hire people to help clean and maintain the trail on a regular basis. There will be two routes available, one that heads north to Burnett and back which is approximately eight miles or south to the Juneau Airport and back which totals roughly three miles. Visitors have the option of signing up for one or both. Heather Kuenzi says there will be five card stations located at road crossings along the routes with prizes for the top six poker hands. The Poker Ride and Walk will take place this Saturday (October 27). There is a $20 entry fee per horse and rider with $15 for any additional hands. For more information call 920-885-0701.
