Fox Lake Woman Sentenced For Aiding Son In Alleged Murder

(Fox Lake) A Fox Lake woman who helped her son cover-up the alleged murder of his girlfriend was sentenced to six years in prison Thursday. In January, a jury took less than one-hour to find Marjorie Jones guilty of two felony counts of Aiding a Felon and Possession of a Firearm as a Convicted Felon. The 65-year-old Jones failed to contact police after learning of the murder of Sesalie Dixon in December of 2016. She was found with a gunshot wound to the head in the cab of a pickup truck owned by her son Laverne Ware Jr who has a two-week jury trial scheduled in September. In addition to prison, Jones will be placed on extended supervision for 10 years.
