10/27/17 – The seventh annual Fox Lake Spooktacular gets underway Saturday. Area residents can enjoy a wide variety of Halloween themed activities from noon until 3pm all along State Street. Event organizer Ann Buchda says trick-or-treating will take place after the festivities wrap up. She says St. John’s Lutheran Church at 110 Edgelawn Road will hold a Truck or Treat with plenty of opportunities to get candy. New this year, a magician will perform at the Nehls Realty at 1pm. There will be a caricature artist at the Fox Lake Library, a children’s costume contest at 2pm at the American Legion Post, and a pumpkin carving contest with judging getting underway at 3pm at Fish Tales. Because of the weather, organizer Julie Flemming says they are moving the Historical Cemetery Stroll to July 7th before the cities fireworks display. The festival will take place rain or shone.
