Fox Lake Murder Suspect Gets New Judge

5/17/17 – A Fox Lake man accused of murdering his girlfriend is getting a new judge. Laverne Ware Jr, who is charged with felony First Degree Intentional Homicide, has already had three arraignment hearings postponed. A fourth arraignment that had been scheduled for this afternoon was removed from the court calendar. The 36-year-old Ware’s request for a substitution of judge was approved on Monday. Judge Steven Bauer had been overseeing the case. Yesterday, an attorney for Ware filed a motion to withdraw from the case. No new hearing dates have been scheduled. On December 4, Ware’s 27-year-old girlfriend, Sesalie Dixon, was found in the cab of Ware’s pick-up truck inside a garage with a gunshot wound to the head. Two others are charged with Aiding a Felon in connection with Dixon’s death; Ware’s mother Marjorie Jones and Jones’ boyfriend Vernon Mickey.
