3/16/17 – City officials in Fox Lake are recommending a name for the new street that will go around the recently-announced Leroy Meats property. With construction of the 11-thousand-square-foot facility underway, west of Kwik Trip along Highway 33, the city is creating access roads for the business. Meeting as a committee of the whole, officials discussed several street names that were submitted by the community, many with historical significance, including: Arrowhead Trail, Streich, Lake View, or Scott streets before Brower was decided upon. Mayor Tom Bednarek says the Brower’s were the first settlers in Dodge County and fits well with Fox Lake being the oldest community in the county. The next step in the process is to vote on the name at Fox Lake’s next council meeting in April.
