Fond du Lac County Meets Minimum Threshold For Federal Tornado Assistance

(Fond du Lac County) Fond du Lac County would qualify for federal funding for local government costs associated with cleanup and restoration following multiple tornados that touched down in August. County Communications and Emergency Management Director Bobbi Hicken says the county local governments incurred $409,100 in costs, which more than qualifies. Columbia, Green Lake and Dodge are also among the 18 counties Governor Scott Walker is requesting federal disaster aid for following August and September flooding and storms. However, Dodge County officials learned last week that they will not be eligible for federal disaster funding for municipal infrastructure. Emergency Management officials say Dodge County falls $46-thousand dollars short of qualifying. That determination only affects public infrastructure; individual assistance may still be available to homeowners impacted by severe weather.
