Farmers for Health Soil Health Water Field Day

(Dodge County) The Dodge County Farmers for Healthy Soil-Healthy Water, in collaboration with the Dodge County Alliance, will host a cover crop demonstration showcasing a variety of cover crop mixtures.  The showcase looks to further the mission of improving our communities’ soil & water through conservation practices & education. At the demonstration, you will see how 13 different cover crop mixtures grew after being planted in mid-August.   Dr. Jamie Patton, University of Wisconsin-Madison & Extension Nutrient and Pest Management (NPM) Northeast Regional Outreach Specialist, will illustrate the story of soil health as told through the soil beneath your feet and in the soil pit.

The event will be split into two demonstrations.  The first at 10am open to producers, agency staff, or persons in agricultural professions.  The second showcase will be open to the general public and members of the Lake association and be held from 5pm till 6.
