The Columbus Area Historical Society will be holding their annual chili and soup luncheon and silent auction, on Sunday February 24th, from 11:30 to 2 P.M. The event will be held at the Columbus Country Club, 301 Ingalsbe St. in Columbus.
The menu will include several varieties of chili with condiments and a selection of soups. Desserts, milk and coffee are included. Additional beverages will be available for purchase from the Country Club bar.
Tickets can be purchased at the the door for $10 for adults, and $4 for children 12 and under. Carry-outs are also available for $4/ bowl.
Advance tickets are available for $8 at Sharrow’s Downtown in Columbus.
This year’s historical presentation, which will begin at 1:00 PM, will be “Columbus in the Civil War: Through Their Words”. Several local actors will portray Columbus area Civil War soldiers and tell their stories of the war, from the letters that they wrote.
Money raised from this event will support the Society’s downtown Columbus museum at 116 W James St.
