(Beaver Dam) Beaver Dam High School students are raising money this weekend for a scholarship established for a fallen alumna. The Emily’s Closet fundraiser is in memory of 2014 grad Emily Lyons who died in a snowmobile accident in 2015. Former Beaver Dam High School student Arianna Weinberger says the goal of the charity is to take in donations of prom dresses and sell them for under half the cost as a way to support her scholarship fund. Weinberger says there will be a wide variety of dresses for sales in all shapes and sizes. There will also be around 100 dresses for sale with tags thanks to donations from a prom shop that closed down in Milwaukee. During a recent appearance on WBEV’s Community Comment, Weinberger said there will also be giveaways this year. She says to enter visitors can come and try on items for one entry, for each additional item purchased a person will be entered into the drawing again. The giveaways this year include a $50 nail certificate, free ticket to prom, free makeup and hair on prom day, free professional pictures and a gift certificate to The Shores of Fox Lake. Thursday is the final day for donations at the school which can be dropped off from 3pm until 5pm. The sale will run Friday from 4pm to 8pm, Saturday from 10am till 2pm, and Sunday from 1pm to 5pm in the Beaver Dam High School’s library.
