Economic Development Group Says Manufacturer Looking At Dodge County

10/19/17 – The Glacier Heritage Development Partnership gave an update on their progress to the Dodge County Board this week. Dodge and Jefferson counties recently partnered together and share staffing on regional economic developmental issues. Glacier Heritage President Victoria Pratt says the pairing has worked out well so far. She says the collaboration has been wonderful and the channels of communication have been continuously open. Among other things, the group reported on their visits with Dodge County businesses and meetings with local officials to discuss concerns and growth opportunities. Pratt says the joint effort can only work to benefit the region. There is strength in numbers and she says when one municipality improves, all improve. The group did present a potential project to the board that could bring a frozen cheese and meat manufacturing facility to Dodge County. The proposed development is estimated to create 50 new jobs in its first year with an investment of roughly $30-million dollars in building the structure. So far Mayville, Horicon, and Waupun have made submissions through the Glacier Heritage. Beaver Dam made a separate submission.
